Case update: Comfort Audio in the US one year later
Comfort Audio is on track to a successful US establishment, following a strategically
sound process. 1. Mapping the US market and industry for hearing devices.
Who are the major players and how are they currently selling and delivering
products? 2. Approach a dozen or so distributors about possible partnerships.
3. Select a manageable number but more than one to launch first
products; listen, learn and fine-tune operations. 4. Year two, step up all
activities: add distributors, promote products with advertising in trade and
consumer media (see our CAs ads here)
and exhibit at trade shows. It really is possible to run a functioning sales
and marketing operation on a part-time, outsourced basis.

Thank you ProstaLund and All the Best
esi Techtrans incorporated ProstaLund Inc during the fall of 2004, as a first
step of regaining control of ProstaLund AB's US sales and marketing from a
major US medical device distributor. Having incubated the US operation and
grown the staff from zero to 10 full-time employees, and last summer adding
a CEO, ProstaLund Inc. now moves into its own offices in Florida.
To
whom it may concern:
After nearly two
years with esi Techtrans, ProstaLund Inc. (PLI) is moving into our
own offices. When I was hired last summer as President of PLI, I took
over a fully operational organization created and incubated by esi.
Having an operational US subsidiary, with sales, marketing and warehouse
logistics, became imperative to ProstaLund, Inc. as we took over the
distribution of CoreTherm from ACMI. esi Techtrans, operating with
a lean staff, has been involved in all aspects of PLI's operation.
Besides setting up the legal, administrative and IT functions, esi
has assisted ProstaLund at trade shows, with direct marketing activities
and creating marketing materials and ads. esi furthermore recruited
experienced salespeople and was instrumental in the initial training
and support of this growing group. Now, with a strong base of customers
and growing sales, the organization has grown to 11 people and is
fully ready to move to our own office in Orlando, Florida.
It is always an
exciting challenge to head up a start-up organization. Having esi
Techtrans incubate PLI made my job much easier, saved ProstaLund time
and money and created a foundation for future growth.
We are grateful
for the services we have received from esi Techtrans and wish them
all the best in their future endeavors.
Best regards,
Curt Gorman
President
ProstaLund Inc.

2004 was a very fine year.
In closing our books for the past year, our 20th in business, we can only
conclude it was a good year. The Global economy creates challenges, but also
openings. The nimble and those who can act as if they are "American" are most
likely to be able to capitalize on the opportunities that the US offers. During
the year we saw a record number of companies incorporating here, and setting
up virtual or actual offices in our offices. In the Global economy, you must
act Locally.
